Domestic Science was never like this
BoostEd are arranging a series of participatory experiments for children in the Primary School hall. Come and play BASH THE CUSTARD, watch MAGIC MALLOWS double in size before your very eyes, find out how CORN POPS… and eat the result! And much more….
TAKE THE TASTE TESTS
Find out why sweets taste good and test your senses to see if you can tell the difference between sweeteners. Is there any difference between a flavour and a taste? Did you know that the flavour compound in oranges and lemons is the same – but how can they taste so different?
How do we get the light, fluffy white stuff from hard corn kernels? What makes corn special. Do some experiments and eat the results!
If we added sherbet to liquid chocolate what would happen? The chocolate is liquid – right? So would it cause the fizzy reaction? Come along to find out.
You can do it – double the size of your marshmallow. More to eat – or is there?
BASH THE CUSTARD
It’s a race against time. How many times can you hit some liquid custard and get your hand out in 30 seconds? Weird – the harder you bash the better your chances.
